Hermes cli session [SECRET-REMOVED]

A traceable record of the task, agent, timestamps, retained context, and recorded activity for this memory.

Overview

What this session was about

The agent confirmed that it still has access to the CRM credentials but cannot reach the previous CRM endpoint due to a 403 error. It verified that a local CRM is operational with a separate database containing 10 contacts, but this is not the same dataset as the former CRM accessed via `crm.strohmpartners.com`. The agent clarified that it does not have verified access to the former CRM data.

Original task

Hermes cli session [SECRET-REMOVED]

Decisions

  • Maintain access to CRM credentials — The credentials are still available in the environment.

Alternatives considered

  • Access the former CRM data — The former CRM endpoint is blocked and the data is not present on the current server.

Topics and systems touched

  • crm.strohmpartners.com
  • /home/strohm/personal-crm/data/crm.db

Report counts + service names only.\n2. Plaintext exports (`data.json`, CSV, `export-json` output): `chmod 600`, keep off shared folders, **delete after successful import** (ask once, then shred/rm).\n3. Do not attach export files to messages or paste JSON blobs into chat.\n4. On messaging platforms, only `--reveal` / show a password when the user **explicitly** asks for that specific credential.\n5. Prefer importing via local file path on the VPS (`scp`), not file upload through chat.\n\n## Proton Pass import (proven path)\n\n### Export format to request\n\nProton Pass Settings → Export offers:\n\n| Option | Use? |\n|--------|------|\n| **Unencrypted ZIP** → unzip → **`data.json`** | **Best** — full structure |\n| **CSV** | OK for logins only; may drop custom fields |\n| **PGP-encrypted ZIP** | Only if file must travel unsafe; decrypt with GPG first |\n\nTell the user: export unencrypted ZIP, unzip, place `data.json` on the agent host (e.g. `~/.hermes/vault/data.json` or `~/proton-pass-data.json`), `chmod 600`.\n\n### JSON shape (v1.38.x observed)\n\n```text\n{\n  \"version\": \"1.38.x\",\n  \"userId\": \"...\",\n  \"vaults\": {\n    \"<shareId>\": {\n      \"name\": \"Personal\",\n      \"description\": \"...\",\n      \"display\": {...},\n      \"items\": [ Item, ... ]\n    }\n  }\n}\n```\n\nItem (redacted structure):\n\n```text\nitem.state: 1 = active, 2 = trashed/non-active (skip != 1)\nitem.data.type: login | note | creditCard | identity | custom | alias | sshKey\nitem.data.metadata.name / .note\nitem.data.content (login):\n  itemEmail, itemUsername, password, urls[], totpUri, passkeys[]\n```\n\nDetails: `references/proton-pass-export.md`.\n\n### Default import policy\n\nUnless user overrides:\n\n- Import **`type == login`** and **`state == 1` only**\n- Skip notes, cards, identity, custom, alias, sshKey (offer separately after)\n- Do **not** overwrite existing vault services — uniquify with ` (2)`, ` (3)`, …\n- Tags: `proton-import,proton:<VaultName>`\n- Username = `itemUsername` if set, else `itemEmail`; if both differ, username field = username and `email: …` in notes\n- `url` = first of `urls[]`; remaining URLs → notes\n- `totpUri` non-empty → `totp: …` line in notes\n- Never log or print secrets during import — stdout = JSON stats only\n\n### Run import\n\n```bash\nchmod 600 /path/to/data.json\npython3 ~/.hermes/skills/productivity/hermes-credential-vault/scripts/import_proton_pass.py /path/to/data.json\n# then after user confirms:\nshred -u /path/to/data.json   # or rm if shred unavailable\n```\n\nScript lives at `scripts/import_proton_pass.py` relative to this skill.\n\n## Day-to-day vault ops\n\n```bash\nvault list\nvault search github\nvault get 'ServiceName'              # masked password\nvault get 'ServiceName' --reveal     # only when user asked\nvault add -s 'NewService' -u 'u' --url 'https://…' -t 'tag1,tag2'\n# password: pass -p on CLI only on trusted local TTY, or prompt\nvault update 'ServiceName' --password '…'\n```\n\n## Pitfalls\n\n- **Shell `&` in heredocs/commands**: Hermes terminal may reject foreground commands that look backgrounded. Avoid `stat.S_IMODE(m) & 0o777` style in inline shell; use Python without bare `&` in the shell string, or write a temp script file.\n- **Unique service names**: SQLite `UNIQUE` on `service COLLATE NOCASE` — always uniquify before INSERT.\n- **CSV vs JSON**: Prefer JSON; CSV is lossy for custom fields.\n- **data.json left in vault dir**: After import, deleting plaintext is part of the job — remind and do it when allowed.\n- **export-json**: Creates a full plaintext dump; treat like Pass export (600 + delete).\n- **Do not store vault secrets in Hermes memory** or SOUL.md.\n\n## Verification checklist\n\n- [ ] `vault list` count matches expected (preexisting + imported)\n- [ ] `vault search proton-import` ≈ imported login count\n- [ ] Spot-check `vault get 'SomeName'` shows username/url, password masked\n- [ ] Plaintext export removed\n- [ ] `ls -la ~/.hermes/vault/` shows `.key` and `credentials.db` mode 600\n\n## Support files\n\n- `references/proton-pass-export.md` — export options + JSON field map\n- `scripts/import_proton_pass.py` — idempotent-oriented login importer (skips name collisions with existing by renaming)\n", "path": "productivity/hermes-credential-vault/SKILL.md", "skill_dir": "/home/strohm/.hermes/skills/productivity/hermes-credential-vault", "org_provenance": null, "linked_files": {"references": ["references/proton-pass-export.md"], "scripts": ["scripts/import_proton_pass.py"]}, "usage_hint": "To view linked files, call skill_view(name, file_path) where file_path is e.g. 'references/api.md' or 'assets/config.yaml'", "required_environment_variables": [], "required_commands": [], "missing_required_environment_variables": [], "missing_credential_files": [], "missing_required_commands": [], "setup_needed": false, "setup_skipped": false, "readiness_status": "available", "_source_path": "/home/strohm/.hermes/skills/productivity/hermes-credential-vault/SKILL.md", "metadata": {"hermes": {"tags": ["vault", "credentials", "passwords", "proton-pass", "import", "security"], "category": "productivity"}}}

    Assistant

I’m now Hermes Agent running as gpt-5.6-terra via OpenAI Codex.

Yes: this environment still has the CRM credentials available (`CRM_USER` and `CRM_PASSWORD` are present), so credential access was retained.

However, the former public endpoint is currently unreachable from this host: authenticated read-only requests to:

    - `https://crm.strohmpartners.com/openapi.json`

both return HTTP 403. That indicates an edge/proxy/IP-access rule is blocking this machine before the CRM API accepts authentication—not that the credentials are missing or necessarily invalid.

No CRM data was read or changed.

Yes. I have direct local, read-only access to the CRM data even without using the public endpoint.

    Verified just now:

    - The current Twenty CRM stack is running locally and healthy.
    - Its database contains 71 people, 114 companies, 8 opportunities, 0 tasks, and 1 workspace member.
    - A separate legacy local CRM database also remains available at `/home/strohm/personal-crm/data/crm.db`, containing 10 contacts (with associated emails, phones, and tags).

So I can retrieve or work with the stored CRM records directly. I did not view or change any individual records during this verification.

No I mean the crm we were using before Twenty do you still have access to that data? OR didn't that run here?

    Assistant

You’re right — I conflated two different systems. Correction:

    - The CRM we previously queried through `crm.strohmpartners.com` was described at the time as running on a separate VPS. On August 20, it returned Brent Zimmerman as contact ID 11.
    - That former CRM’s data is not verified as present on this server now. The old external endpoint is blocked from here, and the current local copy does not contain contact ID 11.
    - There is a different local “Personal CRM” running on this machine at `127.0.0.1:8790`, backed by `/home/strohm/personal-crm/data/crm.db`. It has 10 contacts, but it is not the same dataset we accessed through the former remote CRM.

So: I do not currently have verified access to the former CRM data that was on the separate VPS. What remains here is a separate, smaller local CRM database.
